Fotos4Freedom Program
About the program:
In addition to my photography website I also run an informational charity website called The Lostest Kids. The purpose of The Lostest Kids is to educate people on the horrors of child trafficking that many children around the world suffer from. In addition, the website points users to charities and groups that help fight child trafficking and similar issues. When creating The Lostest Kids, I tried to think up some way I could raise money to actually contribute to causes affecting children around the world. I wondered what I could do as a single person to actually make a different. Finally it dawned on me. I could use my photography as a tool to help.
All my life I have always loved traveling to see natural wonders. From Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone in Wyoming, I grew up with the wonderful opportunity to see beauty in God’s creation. Nature always struck me as the ultimate art form. I have always been in awe seeing a sunset over a pristine mountain lake, or sitting by a wooded stream. After having gone out of the country in May of 2009 for the first time, I discovered beauty beyond anything I had ever seen in the Swiss and French Alps. I was in complete awe and decided right then and there I wanted to become serious about my photography.
Sometime after the trip to Europe, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to somehow combine my love of nature photography with my passion to help children in need. So I came up with the idea of selling my photography with a goal of giving a chunk of the profits to children’s charities that help combat child trafficking.
Eventually, the full goal of this program will be to shoot photos in many locations throughout the world. When someone wants to buy a fine art print of one of my photographs, a portion of the profit will go towards a chilren’s charity that works in that region of the world where the photograph was taken. If you bought a photograph that was taken in Africa, I would try and donate to a ministry or charity that, say, gives aftercare to the ex-child soldiers of Uganda. So far, I’ve only had the pleasure of shooting photography on two continents (Europe and North America) but Asia is hopefully soon to be on my list. For now, until my photography portfolio is a little more diverse, I will give the extra profits to organizations such as Not For Sale and Blood:Water Mission. These charities work around the globe to help free and provide after-care for children facing human trafficking, slavery, forced prostitution and more.
So if you want to contribute to this project, it's easy. Just purchase a print on this website and a portion of every sale will go to helping children in need. So thanks for reading and make sure to check out The Lostest Kids website for more information on how you can help fight child trafficking!
