When it comes to framing fine art photography, a frame should do more than just surround a beautiful image. It should enhance the entire presentation. From complementing the artwork to making it feel like a natural part of the space where it hangs, a frame can be a very important part of your interior design.

For my framed pieces, I primarily offer mouldings from ROMA. ROMA Moulding is an Italian frame maker known for its handcrafted designs, museum-quality materials and refined finishes. These beautiful frames are created with the same level of care and attention to detail that goes into the artwork itself. This results in a presentation that feels elegant, substantial and built to last.

A Tradition of Italian Craftsmanship

ROMA was founded in Italy and built its reputation on traditional European frame-making techniques. This gives the many frame mouldings an impeccably timeless feel to them. Many of their mouldings are still produced using time-tested processes and includes hand-finishing, layered stains and carefully applied veneers.

Rather than mass-producing generic frame styles, ROMA focuses on carefully curated collections made with natural wood materials. A lot of the wood that makes up collections such as the Tabacchino styles come from Tuscany. These frames all have subtle textures and tones with hand-applied finishes, resulting in an approach in frames that feel more like pieces of furniture or architectural elements rather than simple decorative borders.

Designed for Fine Art and Gallery Spaces

ROMA frames are widely used in museums, fine art galleries, interior design projects and high-end residental installations. ROMA's mouldings are designed to complement the artwork rather than overpowering it. They work well with a variety of interior styles, all while aging gracefully over time and providing a refined and gallery-quality presentation.

Many of their frame lines draw their inspiration from traditional Italian craftsmanship with modern minimalist designs, architectural profiles, natural wood tones and textures. This versatility makes them equally at home in both contemporary spaces along with more traditional interiors.

Why I Chose ROMA for My Framed Prints

Over the years, I’ve tested a wide range of framing options. ROMA consistently stood out for their quality of materials and the consistency of craftsmanship. The way their frames complement my photography and the depth and richness of the finishes just give it a timeless feel. Their designs feel intentional and refined. Not trendy or low-end decorative. This makes them a natural fit for fine art photography that is meant to stand the test of time and live on walls for decades.

Frames and Finishes

For my framed acrylic and metal prints, I offer a curated selection of ROMA frame styles chosen for their versatility and visual balance.

These include:

  • Clean, minimalist profiles for modern interiors
  • Floating frame styles that create depth around the artwork
  • Scoop profiles that add presence to larger pieces
  • Natural wood tones and hand-finished surfaces

Most styles are available in a small range of finishes, such as:

  • Deep blacks
  • Soft whites
  • Warm wood tones
  • Rich, hand-stained surfaces

Optional linen liners in black or white can also be added for a more traditional and museum-style presentation.

Framed Acrylic and Metal Prints

Both my acrylic and metal prints can be paired with ROMA frames. This allows collectors to combine a modern photographic surface with a classic, gallery-style presentation.

That said, framing is entirely optional. Acrylic and metal prints are designed to hang beautifully on their own, but a ROMA frame can add warmth and structure, create a more traditional or refined look, all while helping the piece integrate into the room and elevate the overall presentation.

Need Help Choosing a Frame?

Choosing the right frame depends on the size of the artwork, the colors within the photograph and the surrounding decor. It also depends on the overall feel you want in your space. If you are considering a framed piece and would like guidance, I'm always happy to help with any mockups or frame suggetsions.
