Telluride Fine Art Photography

One of my favorite places to capture the rugged beauty of the Colorado Rockies is the area around Telluride. It is full of some of the most beautiful scenery in Colorado. The from the famous "Coors Mountain" of the Wilson Range covered in snow with an old tractor in front of it, to the amazing golden corridors of aspen trees along Last Dollar Road, this corner of the San Juans is a goldmine of beauty for any landscape photographer. This collection represents over two decades of exploring this region. There is so much beauty in this are. Whether it's Bridal Veil Falls at the end of the famous box canyon of Telluride or the surrounding high-alpine basins, I've captured this region with the intent of preserving it in high quality fine art prints for collectors and businesses alike. Many of these images are curated specifically to be displayed in large formats. This allows you to bring the spirit of Telluride into your home or office as a breathtaking statement piece. It is also a cornerstone of a larger collection of San Juan Mountain photography available to explore.

Bringing the Beauty of Telluride into Your Space

Whether it is the 'Old West' charm of a weathered ranch at the base of the mountains or the dramatic 'First Light' hitting the peaks of Mount Wilson, Telluride’s scenery is unmistakable. My work focuses on capturing these moments in their most pristine form. Using professional-grade equipment, I produce high-resolution imagery designed for the most demanding print mediums, including TruLife Acrylic and ChromaLuxe Metal.

Museum-Quality Acrylic & Metal Prints

Museum-Quality Acrylic & Metal Prints

For collectors looking to make a statement, my Telluride collection is available in several high-end finishes. Acrylic prints offer a stunning 3D depth and vibrant color that makes the autumn golds of Colorado truly pop. For a modern, sleek look, metal prints provide incredible durability and a brilliant sheen. Each piece is treated as a work of art, produced as a limited edition to ensure exclusivity and value for your fine art collection.

Iconic Telluride Locations: From the Wilson Range to Last Dollar Road

This gallery features a wide variety of locations in the Telluride area. From sky-high 14ers like the iconic "Coors Mountain", Wilson Peak to deep valleys like the famous box canyon of Telluride, this area is a verifiable goldmine of stunning alpine scenery.

The Wilson Range

The Wilson range of mountains lies southwest of Telluride and include Mount Wilson, El Diente and Wilson Peak. All of these mountains are 14ers, meaning they lie over 14,000 feet above sea level in elevation. This trio of peaks are highly iconic, especially in Colorado lore. The reason for that is that Wilson Peak has been the face of the Coors can of beer for many years. Besides being iconic for that, they also provide stunning vistas along the different backroads on the slopes of these peaks.

Last Dollar Road

North of the Wilson range lies one of the most famous rugged roads in southwest Colorado: Last Dollar Road. This road is a place of pure beauty in the fall when the aspens are turning their famous autumn gold. Weaving in and out of the aspen forests along the western slopes of the Sneffels mountain range, it has some of the most beautiful ranch road scenery in the country. On the northern side of the road there a number of fantastic views of the Sneffels range. By the time you get to the southern end of the road, the Wilson Range opens up with some fantastic vistas! While autumn is the best time to visit, it's also worth driving in the summer, as wildflowers can dot the roadsides and amongst the forest floor. This area is one of my favorites to photograph, and I'm not alone. It's a photographers paradise for both summer wildflowers and autumn beauty! Even outside of those seasons, the vistas alone are fantastic! Just be aware that it requires high clearance at minimum.

Telluride Box Canyon

Telluride famously sits within a stunning box canyon. Surrounded by mountain peaks that tower 13,000 and even 14,000+ feet above sea level, it's one of the most stunning settings a town could ever dream to reside in. Telluride is also designated as a National Historic Landmark District owing to the town's 19th century mining history. As you travel east from Telluride, the scenery gets even more stunning before ending in a series of switchbacks that rise up to the tallest waterfall in Colorado in Bridal Veil Falls. Many roads from here go up and over the passes in the area, including the notoriously technical Black Bear Pass that connects Telluride to the Million Dollar Highway and Ouray on the other side. The photography in the box canyon is amazing and the recreational aspect is world-class. From hiking to serious rock climbing, there is a lot to do in the area. In the winter, Telluride itself is one of the premier skiing destinations in the world.
