About the Photo: 1:30 a.m. in Iceland
Would you believe me if I told you this photo was taken smack dab in the middle of the night? In Iceland this time of year, night is a pretty loose term. I was driving down a gravel backroad on the east side of Iceland a few days ago and kept coming across just endless amounts of lupines. The wind was fairly calm, and this scene on the side of the road made me hit my brakes and reverse back to take a closer look. It was just dark enough that there was a tiny bit of motion blur in some of the lupines, but for being 1:30 in the morning, right in between sunset and sunrise by an hour and a half, I only had to shoot this scene at about 4 seconds.
