Babcock Grist Mill Photography Print & West Virginia Wall Art
Resting along the boulder-strewn waters of Glade Creek in Fayette County, West Virginia, the historic Grist Mill at Babcock State Park is one of the most beloved and photographed landmarks in the Appalachian Mountains. Reconstructed in 1976 using parts from historic mills across the state, this fully operational water-powered mill stands tall amongst the beautiful fall colors.
I captured this image during the height of autumn, after a nice rainfall left the creek swollen and rushing. Above the water, this fine art photograph highlights the rustic wooden siding, hand-built stone foundation and iconic waterwheel framed by a vibrant forest canopy of fiery orange and even red maples along with golden birches. The smooth, silky movement of Glade Creek continues rushing across the foreground rocks and draws you straight into a peaceful Appalachian mountain evening.
This piece was decided to bring the warm and nostalgic atmosphere of Appalachian autumn into your home, office or other wall. Available as a museum-quality fine art print in HD acrylic or sleek metal, both mediums come ready to hang frameless or can be paired with handcrafted ROMA frames. It is also available as an archival fine art paper print, delivered unframed and ready for custom framing.
