Capturing the Mirror of Emerald Lake
By photographing Emerald Lake at sunset, I was able to capture the pristine serenity of one of British Columbia's most iconic lakes. I photographed "Emerald Lake Sunset" as the remnants of a storm cleared out leaving a bit of a moody evening to work with. Pops of purples and magentas tried to break through the clouds, while the mirror-like water offered a flawless reflection of the rugged, snow-dusted peak of Mount Burgess in the background. Emerald Lake is known for the iconic wooden bridge that leads to Emerald Lake Lodge, so I framed the bridge under the peak to naturally draw the eye to the lodge and up into the sky. This scene is a nice contrast between the wild and dramatic elements of the sky compared to the peaceful sanctuary of the lodge below.
Emerald Lake Sunset is available in multiple print mediums and styles such as my Signature Series HD acrylic and metal, along with archival paper prints. My acrylic and metal pieces come ready to hang without the need of an external frame. However, optional Italian hand-made ROMA framing is also available for those that want a touch of elegance to the sleek and vibrance of an acrylic or metal piece.
