About the Photo: Icelandic Horses

Golden morning light spills across an open field as Icelandic horses graze quietly not far from Hella in southern Iceland. Backlit by the rising sun, the warm tones illuminated the horses and surrounding landscape.

It was that backlight that stopped me in my tracks and made me turn around to capture these horses. Photographed on the final morning of the trip, this moment appeared unexpectedly while driving through the countryside back to my hotel. I had just photographed Bruarfoss towards the end of blue hour, and was on my way back for much needed sleep before flying home later that day. But this stop was fully worth the loss of another 30 minutes of sleep.

Known for their strength and distinctive features, Icelandic horses are an enduring symbol of the island country’s rural heritage. By capturing them in this soft light, I was able to highlight both their character and the peaceful rhythm of life in Iceland’s wide open, rural spaces.

If you’re looking for luxury and quality, then choosing arcylic for your artwork will certainly make it stand out! Details from the image emerge from the acrylic in an almost HD-like appearance due due to the transparency layer that is infused with iridium particles and is encapsulated in a layer suspended between the white poly surface and Acrylic. I also offer upgrades to TruLife acrylic and both Lumachrome and Ultra HD acrylic papers.. The final product is finished with a recessed float mount that allows for easy hanging without the need of an external frame creating a modern gallery look that is perfect for any home or office. Additionally, Italian hand-made ROMA frames can be added to any acrylic piece.

Chromaluxe Metal Prints

Signature Series Chromaluxe Metal Prints (Ready to Hang)

Using a method called dye sublimation, Chromaluxe is my choice for metal prints. Chromaluxe metal prints are created by taking an archival fine art print and infusing it into an aluminum sheet, creating a much more durable and visually stunning product than printing directly to aluminum like other metal print methods. Surprisingly light-weight, Chromaluxe metal prints are resistant to scratching while having that shiny, high gloss look that makes an image pop! Larson Juhl and box framed Chromaluxe metal prints are available upon request.

Signature Series Frames (Ready to Hang)

While all of my mounted print styles come ready to hang without the need of an external frame, sometimes collectors want that extra touch of elegance. For that reason, I offer ROMA frames on all of my acrylic, metal and canvas prints. Plaque mount prints can also be framed with Larson Juhl frames. Standard styles include the Tabacchino line, but other ROMA lines are available on request.
