About the Photo: Pearl of the Adriatic
Dubrovnik was once nicknamed the Pearl of the Adriatic by Lord Byron in the 19th century, and if you visit, you can see why. The beauty of this 13th century city on the dramatic coastline of the Adriatic Sea is stunning. I wanted to capture the sun as it came up over the slopes of Mount Srd. Having just a few moments between it rising above the horizon and disappearing again behind clouds, warm light scattered across the walls of the old city of Dubrovnik. This place is truly magical and I am counting down the days when I can visit again.
