About the Photo: Pirates Nest of Omis
When I arrived in Omis earlier in the day, I knew I wanted to shoot the sunset from a higher vantage point to capture all of the lights of the city as day turned to night. I explored the alleyways and streets before climbing up Mirabella Fortress, a 13th century overlooking the Omis below. This stone tower was built in the 13th century upon Byzantine foundations from the 9th century and served as a lookout for the pirates that inhabited Omis through the centuries.
