About the Photo: Senanque Abbey Lavender
This scene was photographed at the historic Sénanque Abbey near Gordes in Provence, featuring lavender in full bloom surrounding the abbey walls. As the sky was uninteresting that sunrise, I intentionally cropped it out of the frame to put the focus stays on texture, repetition and contrast between the deep purple lavender and the warm, weathered stone of the abbey walls.
Small crosses set into the abbey walls hint at many centuries of quiet history. The grounded composition gives this photograph a more intimate feel. It is well suited for either a framed presentation to set the piece off or float-mounted to let the artwork speak for itself. This piece resonates with collectors who appreciate detail, craftsmanship and a more contemplative take on Provence.

Details from the image emerge from the acrylic in an almost HD-like appearance due due to the transparency layer that is infused with iridium particles and is encapsulated in a layer suspended between the white poly surface and Acrylic. I also offer upgrades to TruLife acrylic and both Lumachrome and Ultra HD acrylic papers.. The final product is finished with a recessed float mount that allows for easy hanging without the need of an external frame creating a modern gallery look that is perfect for any home or office. Additionally, Italian hand-made ROMA frames can be added to any acrylic piece.
Signature Series Chromaluxe Metal Prints (Ready to Hang)
Using a method called dye sublimation, Chromaluxe is my choice for metal prints. Chromaluxe metal prints are created by taking an archival fine art print and infusing it into an aluminum sheet, creating a much more durable and visually stunning product than printing directly to aluminum like other metal print methods. Surprisingly light-weight, Chromaluxe metal prints are resistant to scratching while having that shiny, high gloss look that makes an image pop! Larson Juhl and box framed Chromaluxe metal prints are available upon request.
Signature Series Frames (Ready to Hang)
While all of my mounted print styles come ready to hang without the need of an external frame, sometimes collectors want that extra touch of elegance. For that reason, I offer ROMA frames on all of my acrylic, metal and canvas prints. Plaque mount prints can also be framed with Larson Juhl frames. Standard styles include the Tabacchino line, but other ROMA lines are available on request.

About Sénanque Abbey
Tucked into a quiet, narrow valley near the hill town of Gordes, Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque was founded in the 12th century and has remained a place of monastic life for nearly nine centuries. It is still an active Cistercian monastery today, home to a small community of monks who continue to live according to principles of simplicity, rhythm and self-sufficiency.
The lavender fields surrounding the abbey are not decorative in origin. They are part of a long tradition of working the land as a form of devotion, producing lavender for essential oils and supporting the monastery’s daily life. Unlike many of the larger, more commercial lavender fields in Provence, the fields here feel quieter and more restrained, shaped as much by history as by aesthetics.
That sense of continuity is what gives Sénanque its distinct atmosphere. Stone walls softened by time, simple crosses set into the masonry and lavender growing where it has for generations all contribute to a feeling that little has changed here. It’s this balance of beauty, humility and age that draws people to the valley, and what makes photographing this place feel less like capturing a landmark and more like documenting a living tradition.
