About the Photo: The Moose
This shot was completely by accident. All day long, it had been snowing, and the mountains were covered mostly in clouds. However, a few times, the clouds would lift and the mountains would peak out and bask in a few moments of sunlight. By the time I had made it to Maroon Lake to shoot the Maroon Bells, the clouds had just covered the mountains up. Another photographer and I were the only two souls that stuck around and braved the atmosphere in hopes of getting a great sunset shot of the Bells. After 45 minutes of freezing to death, I decided to head back to the car to put another layer of clothing on and dry myself off for a minute. But as I started to walk back, the clouds started lifting, and the mountains started opening up to the west of the Lake. I set my tripod up immediately to shoot the scene. Before I could snap a shot, and completely out of the blue, a moose walks out of the forest into my scene. After shooting 3-4 shots, including this one, a swarm of photographers came out of the forest behind this big guy and sent his slowly stalking off around Maroon Lake. (a little bit later, he came back and sent a few of those photographers running back the other way)
