Photographic Story

My plan on the day I shot this was to race to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve for a sunset as I drove on to southwest Colorado. However, after turning north towards the Great Sand Dunes, I was stopped by a double rainbow over Blanca Peak. By the time I got to the turn-off for the Great Sand Dunes National Park, the sunset was already in full swing. I knew I didn't have time to make it closer to the dunes, so I set up shop where I could. I struggled to find any foreground element to add to the image, but the sunset itself was phenominal!
