Flight of the Seagull

San Simeon, California

This scene was caught by complete accident. I was walking back with camera in hand, ready to head back for breakfast when a seagull on a rock caught my eye. I snapped a few photos of him before he took off in flight. Instinctively, I shot a few as he fly around me and off in the other direction. The final shot I took was this one. I never expected to really get anything out of it, as I hadn't changed any settings on the camera from previous shots. When I went to look a the photos I had shot for the morning, I was happy to see that this one came out quite well and completely by accident. I even managed to capture a wave crashing into the rocks at the same time.
